The Chaplain's Wife

May the Angels fly with you wherever you roam and bring you back safely to family and home.
Welcome! We are the Clodfelters, or as I like to affectionately call us, The Clods. Here's a quick snapshot of our family: We are an Orthodox Christian Army family of five getting to explore the "The Big Wide World." My husband and I are both from Alaska and before joining the military, we started our lives off expecting to go into the family business of education.
Three years into our marriage, we found ourselves at an interesting crossroads, and we did a sharp about-face... Basic Training, here we come! After the twists and turns of life, we found ourselves in the Chaplain Candidate program and attending St. Tikhon's Theological Seminary. My husband, an Orthodox priest, is nearly ready to graduate from seminary, and God willing, we will have a Big Army Chaplain slot by summer. We love our life in the military, and God has blessed us with wonderful opportunities, family, and friends. Relationships and connection are what it's all about, so through our blog, we hope to keep everyone involved in our lives.
A little more about Delaney...
I also use this platform to share my latest entrepreneurial endeavors. I have co-authored a
book published by Ancient Faith Ministries called, "Crowned," and I also operate a small
ministerial business selling travel prayer kits. I have another book in the works, and look
forward to sharing more when appropriate.
I love this life we get to live and I love to share it with others and
make meaningful connections with new friends. As an Alaska chick, I am tough,
independent, and fiercely loyal...you don't have to be an Alaskan to have these traits,
but there really is just something unique about Alaskan people. I am also a hopeless
girly girl who loves dance parties, glitter, and prosecco. I grew up enjoying sports as a
kid, and I have always had a love of fashion and singing (I even gigged in Poland!). Decor,
cooking, planning events, and getting to explore new places is something you can always find
me indulging in... oh, and with a coffee in hand!
I went to college in Alaska, first at the University of Alaska Anchorage for a Business Degree, and then to the University of Alaska Southeast for a Masters Degree in Teaching. Although I don't directly work in the fields I earned my degrees in, I have used them abundantly over the years. I have worked in various settings: in schools, as a small business owner planning weddings, and have volunteered a lot of my time with our church and in other capacities.
My husband Alexis and I have been married since 2013. Fun fact about my husband and I: we grew up in the same parish in Eagle River, Alaska, but had virtually zero contact with one another until he asked me out 2 weeks before I was set to leave state... needless to say, I stayed, and we were engaged three months later.
I suppose there is always more to share, but I will leave it at that, and thanks for listening. Thank you for joining us along this wild ride!
