Well, it has been a long-awaited share, and I genuinely can’t believe the day has come, but guess what, your girl is officially an author!! I have been behind the scenes planning other people's "Big Day" for years, and now I get to share a great deal of that process to help others!

At the start of seminary, I held a little get-together and it came out that I used to plan weddings. Another amazing wife here heard that, and filed it away. A few weeks went by, and she reached out asking if I would be interested in collaborating with her on an idea she had.
Through many meetings, writing sessions, design talks, content ideas, and drafts, I am pleased to announce that Presbytera Krista Fedorchak and I have co-authored the first-ever Orthodox Wedding Guide of its kind on the market.
It is unique in that it is both a practical hands-on guide, and more importantly, a beautiful narration of how we keep Christ at the center of the wedding planning process through all the heavy temptations that the world likes to shower upon us.
This guidebook is meant to be both a beautiful anchor to our faith and is full of tips and ideas on how to begin the planning process and what steps one should consider.
I started helping with weddings at my parish church when I was just 16 years old. Then, at 20, I began my own small wedding decorating business. A few years later I expanded that to include full-service wedding planning, and it became an absolute love affair with planning and helping families envision their dreams, especially whilst on a budget.
Both Pres. Krista and I have used our various skill sets to bring a unique approach to this book, and we hope for it to become a resource in every Orthodox wedding planning journey.
Be on the lookout for
“Crowned: An Orthodox Christian Wedding Guide” coming this summer, 2024.
The book begins with a simple model to help couples stay focused and clear-headed:

A culminating thought (in the final pages of the book):
The Sacrament of Marriage is a beautiful and inspirational occasion. It’s the coming together of two people with God as their head. You have been given a unique opportunity to let Christ’s love shine abundantly through your commitment to each other, to the Church, and to this journey toward salvation together. In this union that images the Trinity, you have the privilege and responsibility to be this light continually.
Your wedding has brought together a community of people to experience love, peace, joy, and Christ’s abundant mercy. This is a beautiful honor, and we encourage you to continue to be this light throughout the rest of your marriage. There will be times in your marriage full of heartache, monotony, and uncertainty, but there will also be times of plentiful joy, peace, and anticipation. We encourage you both to realize that this is all okay, and that this is all a blessing. Make time to find stillness in your busy life together, and lean into life’s phases and transitions while supporting each other along the way. Marriage is not always easy, as the saying goes, but beautiful things come from much refinement. Your marriage will refine you as individuals; and, with Christ and the Church as your guide, you will become a beautiful oneness in the image of God, a theophany of Christ and His Bride, the Church.
Lastly, a big thank you to Ancient Faith Ministries for taking on this project, publishing this book, and helping us see our vision come to life. It has been a dream come true to see my name on the cover of a book.
Thanks for following along, everyone!!
Cheers!
Love,
Delaney and the rest of the Clods
