Potty Training Sucks! Oh, and Other Stuff 😉

As I have been writing today's post, I have been continuously interrupted by Otis who has christened every room in this house with his urine. Let's just say, I have used a lot of Clorox, and "Swiffer Wet Jetted" more times than I can count, and it's not even 1pm. We decided to go cold turkey on the potty training. He is here in the living room buck naked, and doesn't appear to have any sense of urgency when he needs to go... thus, the urine all over the place. I am not really a "read about it" kind of mom, but on this one, we did, and what we read, is that this method works... stand by for updates... I am not totally convinced.
*Edit: It's 4 pm... I think he might be getting the hang of it. It has made for one heck of day for mom, but tomorrow he gets to wear under wear, so we will see how that goes. LOL
Anyway, these past couple of weeks, we have started to really feel a rhythm. I would say that it has definitely taken me a good month to get into the swing of things. I feel a lot more confident getting out and about solo, or solo with Otis.
Just recently, Otis and I took a 25-minute tram ride north to a gorgeous park called, Park Solacki. In fact, it is the park where we almost rented a house. Although the park is gorgeous, I am thankful where we ended up, because we have a lot more amenities near our current home, and we are just a few blocks from work, church, and various other daily conveniences. However, I am happy to know where the park is located. We will definitely be going back; it’s beautiful! There also appeared to be a lot of quirky/hipster cafes around that area, which tend to be my kind of eateries!
My little man turning into a city slicker. 😎
In the past few days, we have gotten out quite a bit. One of those outings was the wonderful and free opera concert we attended in Woodrow Wilson Park. The performance was amazing!
Additionally, over the weekend, we made our way to the incredibly vast zoo, New Zoo in Poznan. The animals were spread many lengths apart from one another with huge habitats. The zoo weaved in and out of trees on windy paved roads, and there were numerous ponds and lakes throughout the entire area. I am not sure the exact mileage throughout the zoo, but it was definitely several. There was also an electric shuttle bus, made to look like a train, that takes visitors around the entire conservation.
This past week, we also found a couple of cool new go-to spots. One of them is in the Woodrow Wilson Park. There is a large area of the park dedicated to 7 spacious greenhouses (which you can tour) with roughly 30-foot-high ceilings. One of the greenhouses is set up as a café, and you can enjoy tea, coffee, drinks, and light meals either inside, in the "jungle", or outside on the patio. It was beautifully tranquil, and it’s definitely my new home away from home when I need to get out of the house.
In between all the day to day living (and potty training), we have finally completed our rough sketch of the year’s travels. Two of the trips have already been booked and we are super excited to head to Croatia in August, and then off to Montenegro in September. We were hoping to make it to Disneyland Paris in September for Otis’ 3rd birthday, but we decided to put that trip off until October. I am probably the one most excited about this trip. Haha!
We look forward to exploring Croatia, and I can’t wait to share it with you all. It is pretty wild that we are getting to have this unbelievable year of travel. We are doing our best to make the most of it, and are mostly enjoying being together again as a family. Even though I had a lot of support in Alaska, there is nothing quite like having your hubby around. Deployment and Covid made for some long days, so I feel like we are getting an opportunity to catch up on lost time. What a blessing!
Pictures out and about... and continuing to have beautiful sunsets!
Alrighty then, until next time…
With Love from Poland,
The Clods
